We know how precious the family jewels are to you, so you need to know how to keep them safe.

It's important to give your balls a monthly check for any new lumps or bumps on the surface of each ball itself.

After a hot shower, when your ball sack is hanging loose and low, hold your ball between your thumb and 1st finger and feel the surface for any lumps or bumps.

Your ball should be firm but not hard--kinda like a hardboiled egg.

At the back of each ball there's a natural lump called the epididymis, so don't worry about that.

A hard lump or bump on the surface of your ball could be testicular cancer. If you do feel something, don't freak out, just get it checked out by a doctor ASAP. Not all lumps are cancer, but if it is cancer, getting it taken care of early will usually mean you'll be cured. Don't wait around to get it checked out just because you're embarrassed!
